To set CS2 launch options, open the Steam client, right-click Counter-Strike 2 in your library, select 'Properties', and type your launch options in the 'Launch Options' field at the bottom. Some launch options from CS:GO no longer work in CS2 due to the new Source 2 engine. Here's what's worth using and what to skip.

Graphics Settings for Stable FPS

Some visual settings can impact performance. If your FPS is unstable, try this starting preset: turn off VSync, lower shadows, textures, and particles. Use bilinear/trilinear filtering, low shaders, and disable ambient occlusion and FSR unless your GPU is the bottleneck. Enable NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency if you use a compatible card.

Adjusting Graphics Settings in CS2

  1. 01

    Open the Options menu

Go to Options > Video in CS2.

  2. 02

    Turn off VSync

Find 'Wait for Vertical Sync' and turn it off.

  3. 03

    Lower Anti-Aliasing

Set 'Multisampling Anti-Aliasing' to 'Off' or '2x'.

  4. 04

    Adjust Shadows and Textures

Set 'Global Shadow Quality' and 'Model / Texture Detail' to low or medium.

  5. 05

    Use Bilinear Filtering

Set 'Texture Filtering Mode' to 'Bilinear' or 'Trilinear'.

Does -novid help with FPS?+

No. In CS2, it only skips the intro video and has no effect on performance.

What about -high?+

It no longer does anything in CS2 due to changes in how the game handles CPU priority.

Should I use FSR?+

Only if your GPU is the bottleneck. Otherwise, it may add unnecessary latency.

Will these settings fix hit registration?+

No. Network commands like rate, cl_cmdrate, and cl_interp_ratio are more important for responsiveness.
