1. Who we are
retakes.gg operates https://retakes.gg and related CS2 community servers. Contact: [email protected] or Discord linked on the site.
2. Data we process
Steam ID, in-game name, and gameplay stats (kills, deaths, points, ranks, playtime) for leaderboards, public profiles, and anti-abuse.
Optional public profile fields you set after signing in with Steam (short bio and banner image URL). These are shown on your retakes.gg profile.
A session cookie after Steam login so the site knows which profile is yours. It is HttpOnly and not readable by page scripts.
Connection metadata such as IP address, join time, map, and server label in server logs used for security, bans, and operations. IP addresses are not shown on public profiles.
Optional public Steam avatar and online/in-game status via the Steam Web API when a profile is viewed.
If you subscribe to VIP: the email address you provide at checkout, subscription status, and linked Steam ID so we can deliver perks and manage renewals.
Standard web logs (IP, user agent, pages requested) and Cloudflare edge logs when traffic is proxied.
3. Why we process it
To run servers, show live status and ranks, enforce rules, prevent abuse, and improve the website.
We do not sell personal data.
4. Cookies & analytics
The site does not require an account to browse servers. Signing in with Steam sets a session cookie (`retakes_sid`) used only to edit your own public profile.
If we add analytics later, this policy will be updated.
5. Retention
Gameplay stats and ban records are kept while useful for the community and moderation.
Join and web logs are retained for a limited operational period, then deleted or aggregated.
6. Your choices
You can stop using the servers and site at any time. Sign out from the header to clear the session cookie. For deletion or ban-related requests, contact us on Discord with your Steam ID.
You can clear your bio and banner from your profile editor. Some data may be kept where required for security (e.g. active bans).
7. Third parties
Steam / Valve provide the game client and identity. Cloudflare may process traffic for DNS, CDN, and security when enabled.
Hosting providers process server and database traffic to keep the service online.
