Best CS2 Settings for FPS

Stable frame times in CS2: video settings to tweak and how to test them.

When your FPS is unstable in CS2, the best settings to lower are VSync, MSAA, Shadow Quality, Model/Texture Detail, and Ambient Occlusion. Start by turning VSync off, setting MSAA to 2x or off, lowering shadows to low, and disabling AO. These changes reduce CPU and GPU load without sacrificing much visual clarity.

Can I turn MSAA to 4x and still get good FPS?+

MSAA 4x or higher increases GPU usage and is usually not recommended for FPS-focused players.

Will these settings work on a high-end GPU?+

Yes, but you can experiment with increasing shadow quality or texture detail if you want.

Can I keep HDR on and still get good performance?+

HDR does not directly impact FPS, but it can slightly affect GPU load. Try disabling it if you're still struggling.

Do I need to use launch options like -novid or -high?+

No, most CS:GO launch options don't work in CS2. Stick to in-game settings and console commands.
